Collective Haul: Sally Beauty and Dollar Tree

I decided I wanted to try Argan Oil products, so I picked up a bottle of the oil and then small bottles of the shampoo and conditioner to see if I like them. (Side note: I love when this kind of thing is available. I hate buying a large bottle of a product and then discovering I dislike it!)
I also picked up some hair color to use probably in the next few days. It's a burgundy/red/brown color. I got a little whisk to mix the dye as well, since I currently just have the brush used for applying it and it doesn't work that well for mixing. The lady working at the check out counter suggested getting the ion repair solutions packet for after coloring as well. This is my first experience with Ion products.

Also at Sally's, I picked up China Glaze 'Light My Tiki' because it was on clearance for $1.99 and Finger Paints 'Where Art Renoir?' because I've been wanting a polish like it for awhile.

At the Dollar Tree, I saw these trios from L.A. Colors. I was intrigued by the colors but didn't have that high of expectations, considering they were $1 each. They seem really awesome, though! So far I've just swatched them but they are very soft and pigmented! I'll do a post on just them soon.
I also picked up an NYC lip slider because I'd heard good things about them (and a little because I'd forgotten to bring any lip balms with me and my lips were dry)

I'm really excited to play around with this stuff more! Have any of you tried any of these products before? What were your experiences?

Outfits of the Day: Black Skirt 3 Ways

Since I've accumulated quite a few photos of my 'outfits of the day', I decided to get a bit more creative in how I put them together than just by date.

I've worn this skirt frequently since I got it earlier this summer. It's just so versatile and comfortable. I got it from Zara.
In the outfit on the left (from August 4th), I paired the skirt with a No Doubt tshirt and the TOMS-like shoes from Payless. Basic, lazy, and very comfy.

For the middle outfit (from August 23rd), I kept it basic but a bit classier with a grey tank top from Target and sandals from Zara. These sandals are a bit lacking in comfort - I haven't quite broken in the strap near the toes to where it doesn't pinch my pinky toe!

The outfit on the right (from September 2nd) is a more fun look. I paired the skirt with a tshirt from Target that I cut to hang off the shoulders and my All-Star imitations from Payless.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish Collection & Swatches

Since I heard Sinful Colors nail polishes are going to be on sale at Walgreens again, I decided I'd just do a quick post of all the polishes I have from them to aid in your decision-making this week!
From my experience, the creme finish polishes are the best. The shimmery or glittery ones are much sheerer and a bit more difficult to work with.
Click the images if you want to see them larger.
L-R: Innocent, Rise and Shine, Nail Junkie, Neon Melon, Dream On, Easy Going, Soul Mate, Hazard, HD Nails, Mint Apple

Some manicures I've done with the polishes.

Green and Turquoise Polka Dot Manicure

This was a manicure I did at the beginning of August shortly after I got my dotting tools from eBay. I used all China Glaze products, starting with the Strong Adhesion base coat. I used two coats of White on White as the base color, then did large dots of Shower Together. I filled in the gaps with Entourage on a smaller dotting tool, then finished with a coat of Fast Forward top coat.

Collective Nail Polish Haul & Swatches

Since I've gotten quite a few new nail polishes over the last month or so, I figured I'd just make a collective haul/swatch post. I got the Sinful Colors polishes when they were on sale at Walgreens for $0.99. The three Ulta polishes with the old packaging were on clearance for $2 each and the one with new packaging was the one I chose as my reward this round.
